To prevent anyone who uses her name for commercial purposes, the star made her name an owned trademark .
If you want to release a perfume called “Adele” or a clothing brand, you’ll have to give it up.
The singer has indeed placed her name as a trademark to prevent anyone to make money on her back without her consent. “She doesn’t want her name to be used by anyone, and that could imply that she is invested in a project that she did not know,” said a close in the British newspaper The Sun.
A growing success
I must say that the triumph of “21″ could give some ideas to exploit the star and her name without her consent.
Indeed, two years after its release, this album is still among the best-selling albums, with no less than 25 million copies sold since its release worldwide.
In addition, Adele accumulates rewards, even though she has only one single released this year, generic James Bond ‘Skyfall’. In 2012, the star was named Artist of the Year by the Associated Press and is nominated in the category “International Female Artist of the Year” at the NRJ Music Awards 2013.
She even put away the need for the independent label which signed at the beginning of her career XL Recordings, with impressive sales of “21″.
